Rich Rodriguez? Supposedly his down-home semi-Southern persona might fit better in Knoxville than up in the frozen north.

Oh yes .... he just signed a new contract at Michigan just a couple of days ago.

Well, if he has a signed contract, of course he won't be jumping. Never mind.

    ::) :D :D

Michigan just hasn't kept all the promises made when he signed the deal.

Watched the presser. I kinda felt sorry for Fulmer breaking down, but when he started being a dick, that went away. He specified which three and only three writers he'd take questions from and when one of them asked a question, "didn't I just say that" was basically his answer.

He's been given a golden parachute if ever there was one. He's getting paid off with his contract and offered a job in the athletic department. He still gets to stay with the school where he's always been and getting paid well to do it. If he didn't see this coming, then to quote a line from Casino, he is weak.

Come on, dude, show some class, accept the nature of the business and enjoy your life. I'll trade gigs with you right freakin now.

Don't be so sure. A truckload of Benjamins can make people do strange things. Seriously, though, I think Mike Leach is the guy they want.

Apparently you didn't see Peyton Manning's presser to announce he was returning for his senior year. There was clapping, cheering, fist pumping ... everything short of carrying him to the practice field on the media's shoulders.

  7. Really? Spend $6 million to fire a coach to hire Tommy Tuberville??? Auburn is weeks away from spending $6 million to fire him.

Maybe the two programs should have just traded and they could have saved the cash.

  8. There were a bunch of players in the media room, so that might have been it.

There were more than reporters at that presser. Current and former players were also there. They were the ones applauding. Hopefully.

I suppose if I were a classy and mature person, I could think of something nice to say about Phil Fulmer. But since I'm not ...

Adios you lard-crusted, sack of shit weasel.

Knoxville's paper has been especially hard on Fulmer.
Fulmer's wife went after Lundy or John Adams in the pressbox once for a column one of them had written.
So I'm not terribly surprised he picked a couple of reporters who were acceptable to ask questions.
The UT media horde is an odd mix of extremely objective and the fanbois.

Mrs. Tater Salad went after Lundy, screaming and cussing him out in the press box before a game.

This man has run a once-proud and storied program into an atomic death spiral. The game has passed him by. And he has made millions and millions of dollars in the process. He is by far the most overrated head coach out there. He has poor-mouthed coaches, he has thrown players under the bus.

Under his hand and direction, potential has been wasted aplenty. This should've happened after we folded up v. LSU in the SEC championship game in 02.
