Had a weird moment today. I was putting in my football bets at the kiosk in the casino, and had a three-teamer loaded up with Texas A&M-Alabama. I was eyeing a fourth game, when ATM-Bama suddenly "closed" and wasn't available even though it was in my queue.

Looks like the line moved from 23.5 (which I had it loaded at) to 24, so I must have gotten caught in the wash of the line change. Just weird to see it happen in real time.

I put this on CFB thread, I realized it was better suited over here.

Are teasers that big common on the apps?

On this game it's probably worth it because the line is so large and even at -315 you're not quite getting pennies on the dollar in return. You just have to bet enough to make it worth it (probably at least $100 to get $132 back at the window).

So @Batman do all the gambling apps let you move lines that much? Or is it a quirk of my local casino?

Not sure about the apps. I have to go to the casino to put my bets in. But I do use the automated kiosk there and you can fiddle around with a lot of different things on most games, including sliding the point spread about 10 points either way.
The downside, of course, is that the odds get jacked up the further you get off the actual number. And while Auburn +38 is probably worth the risk, provided you bet enough to make it worthwhile, something like LSU +13 against Tennessee might not be worth trying to squeeze out an extra dollar or two because there's still a decent chance that might not come home.

Most of the apps offer a ton of alternative lines and O/Us. I think the juice is a little higher but not outrageously so.

FanDuel and Caesar’s are reasonable on the alt lines. DK is horrendous on them.

Careful with teasing college football. Save that for NFL, especially as the unders are hitting.

I'm surprised casinos don't open up a "secondary market" for bets. Say you bet $50 in August on the Raiders surpassing their win total this year. You could cash it out for $25 to someone who still has optimism and figures they'll "save" $25 on the bet and cash if they win. Or bet the same $50 on the Giants win total. You've seen this movie before and figure its just a matter of time before they crash and burn and want to take a decent profit now. The bets are already on the books - the casinos cut from both buyer and seller would help mitigate any big odds losses.

There is already a company that does that secondary market, Prop Swap. A gambling license isn't required because it is selling personal property.

I hadn't won a bet in forever, so I went back to my old happy hour faithful yesterday and put $5 on an in-game Icelandic basketball over/under. Went over 174.5 when it was 51-37 at half. After a very slow start (the number dipped as low at 159.5 live and I thought I was done), they heated up in the fourth quarter and hit the over easily. Slumpbuster? Sure, because I then hit a modest (+429) SGP on the Saints/Cards game. We're back!

Full disclosure, I went a couple of months without betting but FanDuel was giving out so many good offers that I dropped $50 back in the account last week. Hell, the three months of free NBA League Pass was worth the $5 loss I took. That's a $45 value alone.

I’m an advocate for people spending their leisure budget as they please, but at what point does it become like keno? I wouldn’t know where to even find Icelandic basketball if lives were at stake.

It shows up on the "live" tab. Trust me, I don't bet big on it. It's silly fun.

Also, there's an app out there called SofaScore that is a great resource for all sorts of worldwide sports. It's a lifesaver for soccer since it shows a momentum meter that gives you an idea of the gameflow of a particular match.
