Spent the first two days of the tournament just making straight bets. No parlays. Rough first day but I doubled up yesterday with some good picks -- including Yale ML in game which was still +190 in the closing minutes when the game was tied. Taking a lot of over-unders halfway through the first half of games once the pace seems to be set. Having some success there.

Having an absolute trainwreck of an NCAA weekend. Looked at the Islanders game today, decided Cal Clutterbuck was due, put $2 on him to score at +1000. He scored twice in the first period. Basically bought back my NCAA losses. *Homer voice* problem solved!

I did a half-dozen three-team parlays on the NCAA Tournament and not a single one of them hit. I think only one even hit 2/3 legs. It's hard to misfire that badly. Thankfully they were only $5 apiece so I didn't lost much. It was mostly for shits and giggles.

Today, I had the epiphany — literally a day late and $40 short — that I took the completely wrong approach to the first round. I should have gone at it like I do the Super Bowl, where I lay down a bunch of cheap plus-odds prop bets. In this case, it would've been a bunch of cheap plus-odds underdogs with a reasonable chance of springing an upset. There were a lot of underdogs in the 5-12 through 8-9 games that were at least +140.
My betting strategy for parlays is to fill time windows anyway, so betting those games would've fulfilled the same objectives. Let me follow a game in each window, for relatively low stakes, and I still get to enjoy the thrill of an upset. Instead, almost all of my parlays exploded on the first leg.
Something I'll have to try to remember for next year.

    Ready for sports betting tourism.

In June, I’ll be flying into either CLT or DCA to spend 4 days/3 nights betting on sports.

Opening new accounts in NC, VA, WV, MD, NJ, PA, NY and OH should bag me $17000 in free bets.

I will spread out ALL of the free bets on winners for an NFL Division Winner - all four teams at differing levels. Eyeing the NFC North as three teams are +250 or better. I should be able to clear about 10k on each team. That… will pay for spring semester of my daughter’s college costs.
