Europe at +220? Wonder if the U.S. women are going the way of the U.S. men in the Ryder Cup -- more talent, no mojo.

My college football picks have been so-so as a whole so far, but I must be living right. I've been on the right side of three bad beats in the first three weeks.

    • Week 1 — Ohio State takes a deflected pass back for a pick-six with about two minutes left against Akron to hit the push on the total (58) while still leaving Akron (+48.5) within the point spread in a 52-6 win. Had Akron and the over on the same ticket as a parlay, so I still get paid something at least.

    • Week 2 — Missouri, up 31-0 on Buffalo while favored by 34.5, runs in a reason-defying, spread-beating touchdown with 30 seconds left to win 38-0. I get paid again.

    • Week 3 — I took Arizona State -1.5 and U59 at Texas State. The game is a shootout early and enters the fourth quarter tied 28-28. The only way to salvage this thing is for Arizona State to win 31-28. Lo and behold, they get a turnover deep in Texas State territory, kick a field goal, get two more defensive stops in the fourth quarter and run out the clock with a first down inside the 10. Another win/push, but I'll sure as heck take it.

I mean, it's probably not a terrible bet. U.S. desperately needs Nelly and Corpuz to win the opener, and the second match is a total wild card, with Rose Zhang (who didn't play foursomes last year) and Lauren Coughlin (rookie) going out. I'll be walking that entire match. Should be fun.

Thanks to the way the sports betting law was written in Arkansas, only three apps are legal here - Betly, BetSaracen (a brick & mortar casino) and Oaklawn Sports (the famous horse track and, now, casino). Both Saracen and Oaklawn promote parlays on the Razorback game and locks of the week chosen by sports talk hosts from Little Rock. (They are horrible at it, I pity anybody thinking they have inside info informing their picks. They missed 23 of 25 parlays yesterday.)

When you launch the apps, their "Double R Specials" or "Acri's Lock of the Week" are prominently displayed at the top of the page. Do the national apps have touts embedded in the apps like that. I assume not.

Went 9-3-1 on college football picks this weekend, which seems like a long way to go to win $63. Hit on two single-game parlays with Arizona State and BYU, and a three-teamer, plus an all-time lock with Texas A&M only giving 4.5 to Florida. I probably should've bet more on that last one, but such is the life of a nickel-and-dime recreational gambler.

The NFL was not as kind. Just did a cheap-o three-teamer that the Colts and 49ers decided not to show up for.

Holy shite. Looking at the early lines for next week and Florida State is favored against a not-terrible Cal team!?
I might need to run over to the sports book tomorrow and get that one down before the line flips.

DK with a no sweat TD bet for tonight's game.

Fuck it, let's get weird and take Devonta Smith at +850 for first TD. Can't hurt.

    Cash, let's go!
