Absolutely. I figured that since they didn't use a perfectly set up chance for Jaime to be killed by the dragon that he was going to live. No way they start the next episode with dragging his lifeless body out of the river. I thought he might have wound up with the prisoners. Instead he showed up so far downriver that everything you saw was tiny. No way. He'd have drowned.

This was my first thought. Literally said "oh bullshit" out loud when that happened.

The only other person we've seen them trust like that is Tyrion, when he freed the other two. Maybe it is something in those characters' blood or maybe it is just how they approach the dragons. Both were afraid and respectful, but brave enough to keep their composure and move past their fear.

That or they pull the rug out from under the audience by killing off Gendry next episode.

Arya and Sansa never got along and she had been close with Jon, if I remember correctly. Littlefinger sees that a united Stark family is dangerous for him, so he is playing on Sansa and Arya's troubled relationship to put them at odds.

It almost seems like there was an action scene of the rescue that they decided not to film/cut.

I'm sure it was obvious to others, but it struck me this morning that Dany killing the Tarly father and son was a lot like the Mad King's killing of Ned's father and brother (although I think that Ned's brother wasn't burned like Dickon)

I totally missed that on the first watch. I know the conversation between her and Tyrion was uncomfortable and I believe Tyrion was basically saying "Don't become the Mad King, don't go down that road." And she didn't, she took it up a notch. LOL

So much for Varys telling Dany if he felt she was doing the wrong thing. All he did was talk to Tyrion about it behind her back. When Tyrion reminded him that she wasn't her father, the response was interesting.

"And she never will be...with the right counsel."

It was the pause that I noticed, as if the part about the right counsel was an afterthought. Varys is going to do far more than talk if he thinks he has to stop her.

Another thing I noticed looking back at the episode was Dany's reaction when Jon said he would go on the mission beyond the wall. She was far more visibly shaken by the idea than she was about Ser Jorah going.

I wonder how many westerns the B&W watched when they were laying out this season? The battle scene last week had that feel to it last week, and then this week everyone is talking about the Magnificent Seven ending to the episode. I also saw a review that pointed out the opening with Bronn pulling Jaime out of the river looked like a Sergio Leone shot.

Another hint Cersie has a spy in Dany's camp with her knowing about Tyrion, right? My first thought was Varys tipped her off, but it seems like they are telegraphing that too much at this point for it to be right.

By the way, where did Theon disappear to in this most recent episode?

Probably avoiding awkward moments with Jon.

Was thinking about his arc, maybe Jon will sentence him to the Night's Watch and his redemption will come fighting White Walkers at the Wall.

Before the end of the episode, I thought Theon was going to end up with the group going beyond the wall. He would fit in nicely with a group of guys that kind of hate each other but also need each other. That would have given him the opportunity to sacrifice and redeem himself in front of Jon. But I like your idea of him being in the Night's Watch. Makes perfect sense.

Also, not to sound too bloodlusty, but someone big needs to die soon, and it could definitely happen next week. No way all of those guys are making it back. My prediction: The Hound finally meets his fate. He is unnecessary to the overall plot, but has been around since Episode 1, so his death will carry some weight.
