I think the Night King is a "seer" of sorts. That is why he hds his army camp out around 10 random guys in a lake. He knows Jon Snow can destroy him, but also knows he needs a dragon to smash the wall. He "knew" that Snow would bring a dragon to him so he waited instead of just charging across and killing them all. I think that also is why the wights kept trying to get the captured guy.. the NK was willing it. He knows his plans are in jeopardy if the South unites against and he knew why these "living things" had captured one of his men.

To set up some fake dramatic tension before Sansa swerves and lops off LF's head. I'm surprised it took this long

I don't recall seeing Beric or Tormund at the meeting with Cersei in the preview. I suspect that they will both stay at the wall when most of the rest travel to King's Landing. Tormund is a leader of the Free Folk, you know he's staying. I'm betting that along with the drama with Cersei, another big plot point of the season finale will be the White Walkers breaking through/past the wall. I'm thinking that one or both of them die.

Perhaps Gendry as well... in the Game of Thrones he's a big fat loose end with a Baratheon claim to the throne. I *would* love to see him tell Cersei that he's Robert's bastard son, her sneering at him, and Gendry then saying that he has a far better right to the throne than her two sons who sat on it, since he is actually Robert's son. Gendry's gonna go, only question is when. I hope he gets a reunion with Arya first.

Tormund with those blue zombie eyes is going to hurt.

I suspect that it's setting up Littlefinger getting his ass killed next episode. All it would take is about three or four sentences from Bran and he's meat. Looking forward to it.

*edit* I really like Big Circus' idea about Arya wearing Littlefinger's face. That would be a nice touch if it happens.

Traditionally, in fantasy literature and D&D gaming terms, yes. White dragons' breath weapon is whatever the icy equivalent of steam is. Think of Ahnold doing Mr. Freeze. I'd love to see someone get hold of the video and photoshop the cold dragon breath into a stream of ice cubes, though.

I love the quote from Taylor where he says that he was surprised at all the expressions of disbelief about the speed of ravens. He said "I was more concerned about whether the fans would actually mourn the death of a visual effect".

I guess I'm easy. GoT is wonderful junk food TV. Entertaining.

When you have ice zombies, dragons, witches and characters coming back from the dead?

That means I'm ok with questionable speed of travel and how ice zombies got a big chain.

Still hoping Arya kills 'em all.

And ok. Bran is kind of annoying.

I get that type of thinking, but it isn't the way I see science fiction and fantasy stories. Just because the worlds in those stories have rules that are different from those in our world doesn't mean they shouldn't have rules at all. In fact, I think it is crucial to set the rules for those fictional worlds and live in them. When writers fail to do that, the stories can get frustrating.

Dragons, witches, people coming back from the dead and ice zombies are part of the world of Game of Thrones, but so is the fact that news travels slowly and people move even slower, but they seem to be throwing that out this season, which is a little frustrating.

I think it's as simple as they decided to end it in thirteen shows when they truly needed two full seasons to bring all the plot threads together. Things have gotten very compressed as a result. It's become a headlong pace. I understand that at least some of the last eight shows will run two hours. Frankly, I hope they shoot all eight that way.

We're willing to give them willing suspension of disbelief - as long as things stay internally consistent.
