Yep, Benioff and Weiss clearly ran out of ideas once the genius source material that produced such epic passages as this ran out:

“Sunset found her squatting in the grass, groaning. Every stool was looser than the one before, and smelled foiled. By the time the moon came up she was shitting brown water. The more she drank, the more she shat, but the more she shat, the thirstier she grew.”

That also was one of the funniest songs in Book of Mormon.

This was good. It nails one of the issues I have: Dumb people like Jon Snow and see him as the hero of this tale. In general, Jon Snow is one of the least interesting characters. So focusing on him, as the TV show often does, does the story a disservice. Without Martin telling them three years ago that Arya was the one who was going to kill the Night King, you know D&D would have had Jon do it, and that’s why they can’t resist repeatedly bringing the story back to him and Dany.

Well, it worked pretty well up until S8E3.

Which fan base gets more emotional if you trash their show? GOT fans or Glee fans?

Man, it's been so long since Glee, but that's a good question. I think GOT is probably the winner because you have the toxic bro thing going on, with dudes who see Jon as their avatar somehow, but Glee people would definitely melt down at the slightest criticism.

Rewatching this … he was bait, putting himself there with the intention of drawing the Night King out of the protection of his troops. And when the Night King held back of the initial stages of the attack, Bran warged into a raven so he could fly out to find the Night King (who “always knows how to find me,” Bran said) and draw him out of his safe zone. Not the best strategy if you’re a fan of self-preservation, but it worked.

Also, anyone else think the Night King held off on rolling that blizzard into Winterfell until the moment when Jon turned Rhaegal toward the White Walkers? Seemed like the White Walkers were also bait to draw out their most powerful opponents, and then the Night King imposed instrument flight rules on the dragons and dropped the operating ceiling to 100 feet.
