I've been talking about the actual issue from my first post. But it's the stuck on a few callous words by Sheff crowd that keeps the conversation there.

Maybe its just me, but I at times know people are smarter than what they are when, albeit, attempting to speak on things but are unable to do so correctly.

really? I think that we're not seeing many white americans in the NBA because they're not good enough.

But those very things at the backdrop of why a foriegn born athlete is willing to be more "compliant" than an american born one, isnt?

I could say the same thing about my parents.

Chee....thats a great attitude and I hope you feel the same way the next time a white person says something that could be constued as bigoted.

I can't say that is true.

Even if it were true, they're plenty of Euro not good enoughs in the NBA that are taking jobs from potential white american athletes here in the states.

Chee, the way you keep bringing basketball into this suggests you just might have xenophobic issues with foreign players in general.

Knowing this a potentially egregious threadjack, I gotta say I don't see how the NBA is "shafting" white Americans any more than I can see how MLB is shafting African Americans. As I see it, that would only be the case if there were clearly deserving white American kids out there who were not being given a chance. But that's not the case. Instead, I see that even the 2 best recent white american kids, Redick and Morrison, appeared in their rookie years to be too slow to ever play quality NBA defense or become more than role players. And I don't see anyone else out there better than those two who's been deprived of an opportunity.

The reason there's more European than American white NBAers is the exact same as why there's more Latin than American black MLBers. They're producing more talented players deserving of spots in the league. I don't see where anyone's getting unfairly "shafted" from that.

I have a hard time putting professional sports and outsourcing on the same level......do you honestly think the NBA is purposely overlooking white american players for Europeans?

My god, boots, you come off as such an ASS when you say something like this.

You have no idea which of us would kiss his ass and which of us would face him like a man. You just have no idea.

Shot you're right. But by the same token, I'm sick and tired of people taking a shot at a kid, who I do know as a pretty straight up person.
His remark, just took me the down the wrong avenue shot.

I don't think it's done purposely, but they've done little to foster the belief that white players from the states can play to, so they outright don't promote the game to them as a viable athletic option. So they'd rather draft Xi Pak Dang from China after a good workout against a weak team.

The influx of drafting foriegn players off of one workout have curbed somewhat.

I think it's unfair to highlight Jackie Robinson's accomplishments, tear apart the Negro Leagues on the promise of intergrating the game and then neglect that fanbase.

That's the shaft I'm seeing here. As I stated earlier, that neglect has lead to kids not playing the game like I once did. MLB has done little to promote interest in the game and took our fanbase for granted.
