You're one of the worst posters in this site with your ad hominem responses. Nothing you posted brought any value to this thread or even addressed the topic at hand. It's people like you who continue to quell dialogue.

Keep creating strawmen to tear down.

I'm not attacking anyone -- "I'm just keeping it real, you all."

I just find it amazing that the only time these threads turn into sermons about race and racism is when the offender is a straight white person and the offendee is a protected minority....

When roles are reversed, however, we want to try and uncover the real meaning of what the offendee was saying instead of throwing labels at him or her.

    That's called hypocrisy.

Either everyone should get the benefit of the doubt or nobody should.

Who mentioned racism in this thread besides YOU? ???

You dressed me up in garb I'm not even wearing.

It amazes me how you've dreamt up things to embellish your jaded POV.

    In friggin credible.

Notice how the second Zag posts, it moves on from addressing the issue at hand to his "white guys are being elbowed out of the way by these minority separatists!!" facade.

My point exactly. Thanks for making it.

If it were a white guy who said these things we'd have about 20 pages of people spouting off about what a racist, bigot, hateful man who needs to be suspended Sheffield is.

Instead of that, we have a thread of people trying to understand what Sheffield said and why he said it.

Again, certain groups are afforded the benefit of the doubt while others aren't. That is all I was saying.

Oh, and Big Chee, I suggest you read what MMAC wrote before I did before you start blaming me for taking political correctness and double standards to task.

If a white guy said exactly "what" things?

If a white guys said the things Sheff said about black athletes, it would still be true. If a white dude said whites were affected the same way, it would be a blatant falsehood.

So exactly what is your point?

You have none, and brought ZERO value to this thread as usual.

You went ahead and got on your dress up routine painting me. You're pretty much a worthless poster, and unfortunately, a journalists that can spread his stupidity and lack of rational to a wide audience.

If it's true, its true. I said years ago that the influx of European "talent" hurt the whtie american ball player more than anyone.

Who cares if I'm viewed as a crack pot for feeling so? If it's married to truth then it is what it is.

And the amazing thing is that many of you clowns try to make it a "reverse" thing when its your fellow white males that are making the decisions of who gets signed to an NBA or NFL contract. But then again, you wanna blame negros for it.

Don't play stupid, though judging from your previous posts that is easy for you to do.

What would your response be if a white player said that blacks get jobs over whites because they "are easier to control" and that "yeah, you are going to see a lot more black faces out there, but there ain't no proper English coming out"

You'd have the politically correct thought police out here slobbering all over their key boards. Now, however, you want to try and understand what he said and why he said it.....again you'll give the benefit of the doubt to some and not others, that's called hypocrisy.

I'm black jackass, at least get your fact straight. And MMAC made the same exact point I did in the same exact way I did, so I guess he is a worthless poster as well?

Not looking to fan the racial flames, Big Chee, but it seems to me that there is a valid point in there about the double standard somewhere.

If a white player had made the exact same absurd statement about African American players, to wit, asserting that the real reason there were more black players than white players in pro sports is because "black players are easier to control", you can't tell me there wouldn't be outrage at that statement in the African-American community. You can't tell me there wouldn't be people claiming the statement was racist and offensive, and guys like Sharpton and Jackson wouldn't be making political hay out of it.

You're right that Sheffield's comment largely has not been treated as a racism issue. But it probably would be if someone else had said it.

Then I'd say it's blatently untrue and not married to fact because blacks don't have the numbers in this country to elbow whites from a job.

Get your nose out of the Ronald Reagan playbook acting as if theres a black contingent taking jobs away from you. We have no hegemony we're trying to maintain using systematic racial practices to maintain our "domination."

Sorry, but more often than not, it's the other way around. I don't recall African Americans redlinining white communities, throwing away their resumes from potential employment because of their "white sounding names" or other things.

Why don't you play smart enough and approach things by a individual basis rather than some stupid "judging by your past posts" nonsense?

You come off more and more stupid with each post.
