Gay sports writers?

Discussion in 'Journalism topics only' started by Shifty Squid, Feb 16, 2007.

1. I'm completely with you here. I find it as a compliment too. But be careful saying that here. A certain idiot who goes by a baseball legend as his screen name will spin your comments to make it seem like you can't get any women and will see anyone who shows affection toward you as a goddess/god. And he'll make it a lame running joke.

You can't get women. We know this.

Six pages on a "Gay Sportswriters" thread?
Who'd a thunk it.
This thread was worth about a half-page. The other five-and-a-half are mere opportunities to post-pad.
Has anyone named a gay sportswriter? Or even discussed any?
This thread is nothing more than for post-padding. You guys stink for doing this.

Since somebody asked. Not sure why which writers are gay matters, but it apparently does to somebody.

I see where a lesbian with ESPN and some other guy are indeed mentioned as being "gay sportswriters"
Good production.
And this above quote has my vote for "top post of the thread"

I'd love to come and meet you, sportschick, at one of the "SJ.outings"
Maybe in Dallas.
You seem so nice.
You are, for sure, one of the top post-padders on the board.

Sportschick, :)

You've edited your last post, now, three times.
Does that up your post count?
Or does it stay the same as it would had you stuck with your original post?
Just wondering.
You seem so nice.

True story I am leaving out the name to really protect those involved:

There is a well known sports writer who used to work at the NY Times. He once interviewed a high-profiled quarterback who picked up vibes that the sports writer was gay. He sent a letter saying that he never wanted to be interviewed by that sports writer again and to my knowledge, that never happened.
Now the sportswriter in question is a good guy but yes, his sexual orientation has been a topic. Howeve, I consider him a friend. He does his work and as far as I know, doesn't bring his sexual views into the locker room or the press box. I think that's all that really matters and it's all I have to say on it. boots

10.
Most of the women chose not to undress while the press is in the locker room. I've heard stories from some guys who covered the WNBA about certain members of the Seattle Storm flashing them (sorry guys, not Sue Bird), but in general the girls just keep their clothes on until the press leaves.
And here all this time I just assumed I wouldn't like covering a WNBA team.

Hed..if you don't like the thread...don't read it... oh, wait. You didn't. You just jumped in on the end and started criticizing.

We have mods on this board. They do a fine job. They do not need your help.

Addendum: Les Nessman is NOT gay. Regardless, the Cincinnati Reds should let him back in the locker room.
