I thought you were cool, Jay. Sounds like you're just picky.

Sometimes, a shower is just a way to get clean after a sweaty game.

Cool? I dissuaded myself of the notion that I was cool a long time ago.

Do I treat an answer to this serious, or with humor?
This is a tough one. Whadda ya think Slappy, firejimtressel and hank scorpio?

But at least one gay male sportswriter (now copy editor/page designer) should speak up.

On a serious note, when I was in the locker room, my sexuality was no one's business, just as the sexuality of the athlete was of no concern to me. Like the rest of you before the advent of closed locker rooms, I was in there doing my job.
Now, I'd be lying if I said no one over the years caught my eye. Like I've told a few collegues over the years, are you gonna tell me you wouldn't take a look if you were a straight man doing interviews in an all-female locker room? I think not. So don't get all high on your horse.

On the humorous side, I've sat next to, showered next to and dined with a number of male sportswriters over the years. For the most part, 80-90 percent of you have NOTHING to worry about. For God's sake, step away from the fast food, hit a gym or at least use deodorant.

Personally, I take what the bible says about the subject. God used abombination to describe the gay relationships. He created human kind and has a big say in how it works. Just looked up the word abombination and went from there. Worked with someone in the newsroom who was gay once. It was just weird seeing a guy get roses from another guy.

    Jealous?

Seriously, though, the Bible says a lot of things, like women should subjugate themselves to their husbands. I mentioned that to my wife. Didn't go well.

It also says something about do not judge, yet ye be judged -- or something like that.

Yes. But in the Greek that passage was written in sarcasm font. So whether God was just kidding or not has been debated by Biblical scholars for centuries.

It's also being debated by churches, too. But that's just my stance on the issue.

Gonna bring up the Bible, eh?
Here's my favorite line about the Bible and homosexuality.
If homosexuality is such a great sin, why didn't it make God's Top 10 list to Moses?

As for judging? It would be hard to ignore a gay couple if they are holding hands and kissing in public.
