It takes true genius to make a film in which the villain brags about bringing a JC Penney to his little town.....

Snakes on a Plane has a 5.5 IMDB rating and scored 69% on Rotten Tomatoes.

    Does Cocaine Bear reach that?

Cocaine Bear debuts at 6.5/70%. Certain to drop once people see it!

This is what Moneyball should have looked like.

Bob Ross fan here, but this looks like a good time.

Looks closer to Next of Kin territory, but that was fun, too.

Hate to say it, but "Cocaine Bear" wasn't very good. Tonally, it didn't know what it wanted to be, a horror movie or comedy. With such a ridiculous premise, they should have leaned on the comedy.

On top of that, there's too many plot points going on at once, it felt more like watching a crap Dick Wolf procedural than a movie. The sympathetic characters never really earned their sympathy, but the bear victims (with one exception, I guess) didn't really earn their deaths either. I've read in interviews that it was sort of the point, when man fucks with nature, man will lose to nature and often randomly so.

Yeah, all right. The fucking movie is called "Cocaine Bear", OK folks? It doesn't need a message at all.

Didn't watch the SAG awards, but if you're doing an Oscar pool, just copy the acting choices and thank me on Monday. Looks like that Everywhere movie will win big.

Saw a trailer over the weekend. Can’t wait to see “SISU.”

Myself, I enjoyed the hell out of "Cocaine Bear." And I'm not one for gory stuff. Were the story lines predictable? Sure. Will they win any awards? Of course not. But I thought the gruesome/campy/hilarious mix worked.
