Yeah, which of the lower 48 would have tripped me up. I would have said California/Oregon and spaced Missouri. If nothing else, you got me looking up the Missouri quake and the Carolina massive quake. I didn't think quakes that big were happened east of the Rockies.

Not Nancy Reagan. She made it 28 years (1988-2016), but that's not even good for the bronze. Jackie made it 31 (1963-1994), but that's far from the winner too.

Not Dolly Madison. James Madison's presidency ended in 1817. She died in 1849; 32 years puts her near the top but not at the top.

By this you mean a POTUS who died of natural causes while in office, right?

    Abigail Adams?

No. Just died of natural causes period, instead of earlier than normally expected by assassination.

Not Adams. She died in 1818, only 17 years after John Adams' term ended. John Adams outlived his wife by eight years.

I'm going to guess Mary Todd Lincoln simply because that would seem unlikely and bordering on cruel and unusual punishment to have to live so long with that memory.

Not MTL (besides, Lincoln died earlier than expected because of being shot). She died in 1882, 17 years after Lincoln's presidency ended.

Just cheated and looked up what I think is the answer. Is the number of years also the answer to the question of life, universe and everything?

Shoot me. I renounce myself. Repeatedly.
