George Will on global warming

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by hondo, Feb 6, 2007.

  1. Ah, the "I know you are, but what am I?" defense. Well played, tony.

  2. The world is conspiring against America.
We are the true underdogs. And we rock.
    Whoo-hoo.

OT, your junior high putdowns further prove you as nothing more than a troll.

But, in case anybody willing to discuss this topic without the crutch of namecalling happens by, I'll respond.

The poll was financed by NWF, but it was conducted by Responsive Mangement. That company specializes in surveying hunters and fishermen. Clients include the National Shooting Sports Foundation and that famously liberal group known as the National Rifle Association.

73 percent of the sportsmen who responded to the poll listed themselves as moderates or conservatives. 53 percent of the respondants voted for GW Bush in the last election. These are not tree-hugging, tie-dye wearing hippies. This is the hook and bullet crowd.

As I've said repeatedly, the people who spend a lot of time outdoors believe in global warming. They see it firsthand.

  4. But they're in the pay of the Danes and Swedes!

  5. I always knew there was something shady about Scandinavia. Too bad they can't truly embrace socialism, eh tovarisch?

  6. No, it's those damn Bergman movies.

You know, I guess that explains how my father-in-law (a fourth-generation farmer) came to believe in it. Come to think of it, I think he ordered a danish last time we went to breakfast.

  8. That's how it starts. Today, it's pastries. Tomorrow, the world!

You know, I think he's a Freemason too. Either that or a member of Farm Bureau.

Actually, there's generally no defense needed when conversing with Fenian. You point out how he's wrong, he comes back with something stupid. you point out the folly of that, he comes back with something even dumber. You point out the folly of that and he's so out of ammunition that he resorts to the "You must be a paste eater" argument. Happens every time.

He runs around the board accusing everyone who doesn't agree with him of eating paste when it's obvious he's the only one any of us have ever encountered that apparently has ever thought of putting the stuff in his mouth. Pretty sad, really.

  11. And you pointed out I was wrong when?
    And on what issue?
    Please provide a link.
