Yes, but there's nothing tired about three years and 60 freaking pages of "get-'em-out-of-Arizona-move-'em-to-Canada-the-NHL-is-stupid," is there?

From the sound of this article, the chances of a deal happening don't seem likely, to me anyways.

According to Shoalts, Jamison wants $40 million up front from Glendale, as well as $16 million annually. Not sure how the fuck that is legal.

This whole situation has been a complete joke.

The Globe and Mail's coverage of this has driven me nuts from day one. For instance:

Really, an anonymous source "familiar with" a state law? That's pathetic.

I'm guessing the "anonymous source" is at the Goldwater Institute, which has a massive ax to grind here, and should never, ever be quoted as some sort of anonymous neutral observer.

It's not a civic duty to contribute to the revenue streams of billionaires (yet).

For most of their stay in Phoenix, the Coyotes have been a substandard product.

Why "support" a team if it has historically sucked?

Well, they could move them to Kansas City. I'm sure that would work out well.

I don't see Kansas City as a realistic option, nor Seattle, unless the eventual owner also controls the main revenue streams in the proposed arena. It's Quebec or stuck in the Valley.

Why say you want an NHL team and then don't support it?
    F#ck Phoenix.
They do not deserve to be in the big leagues.

There wasn't a big groundswell to bring an NHL team to Phoenix, except for Jerry Colangelo to get money from an NHL tenant for what was a brand-new downtown arena.

When two schmucks bought the Jets in the 90s and didn't realize the arena had obstructed-view seating, and then complained about the fact, the franchise didn't have a chance.

Phoenix has been cursed with horrible owners in all sports.
Other than that it has proven it is a bush league sports town and deserves what it gets.
Look - if you can't support your team then it's time to let someone give it a try.
