Well, I think that's the big question everyone is trying to figure out. Is the situation just hopeless beyond anyone's ability to fix? Or has it been a result of bad management, bad play, bad marketing, etc. and something that a few good moves would correct?

I just think it's hilarious that the prospective owners want a five-year out clause, but immediately dismissed the same request coming back at them from the city of Glendale, which, as usual, is taking all the risk. What an absolute gong show.

I think this thread should be locked. Just opening it practically puts me to sleep.

  4. The Arizona Republic's Paola Bolvin writes the City Council should vote for the lease because of civic pride, exemplified by the Diamondbacks honoring the 19 firefighters who died in Yarnell when playing the Mets on Monday night.

I like Paola's columns, but sounds like "If you don't vote for the Coyotes, the terrorists win,"

  6. Her column is dreck. The fanboi tug at emotion perpetuates the sports writer stereotype they aren't smart enough to handle complex political issues, which leaves the "toy department" to gamers and features.

blech total fanboi. How does she follow it up when they vote against the lease and the Coyotes leave? Now was not the time for retrospective drivel.

THIS is the reason why the council should OK a deal to shell out $15 million a year of taxpayer money pretty much in perpetuity to the owners?

They ass-fucked their employees in 2004 so let's give them millions in 2013? Sounds awesome.

Same as PDT this time of year. Arizona is its own time zone (kind of like Labrador and Newfoundland). In the winter, it aligns with MST, in the summer, PDT.
