You'd get my vote ... but it might be like throwing it away. ;)

  2. Jesus. Anything else you'd like?
Put that all together and you could elect Charlie Manson.

I don't get it. Why would a seemingly random selection of positions on issues the main parties have already staked out be an automatic ticket to success?

Exactly. Beat me to it, Inks.

The point is to vote for whoever you think will do the best job in a given office. For people to lambaste others for not voting, then say they "threw their vote away" when they actually DO vote is the height of hypocrisy.

By that mindset, you'd be throwing your vote away voting for a Democrat in a red state and vice versa. A two-faced, stupid concept if there ever was one.

Seconded. If you vote for the losing candidate, you're throwing away your vote. If you vote for the winning candidate in a state whose electoral votes went to the loser, you're throwing away your vote. If you vote for the winning candidate in a state that he wins, but do it after he's already got the necessary votes to win said state, you're throwing away your vote.

Moral of the story: Vote for the winning guy at 9 a.m. and hope the state you're in follows suit. Then your vote will count.

Or you can vote for the most obscure candidate to see if you were the only one in your precinct to do so the next day.

Well, actually, anybody lambasting another for not voting at all is bullshit, too ... but that's probably another thread.
