Chuck, when a person demands tolerance of others, saying things like this make that person lose all credibility. To be taken seriously and make your point, you can' t call out one person for being intolerant of you and your views, then turn around and be intolerant of their right to have their say (not to mention their very existence). Basically, you're stooping to a level of thought that you contend is illegitimate. Can you see how that would make your argument contradictory?

There is nothing funnier than watching liberal hysteria. Spins come out looking better than anything the Clinton Administration ever knew.

I'll keep that in mind, but at least I have the satisfaction of knowing I can identify compound SJ injokes without looking at the answer key. Hello, new line on the resume!

Yes, because if my religious beliefs meant others banded me in with terrorists, I know I would roll around on the ground laughing.

Liberal mantra: Words don't mean anything. It's FEELINGS.

Which makes liberals and journalists an oxymoron, doesn't it?

No, it makes Yawn and decency an oxymoron. Dude, you just called a boardmember here a terrorist because he is a muslim. Is your worldview that stilted?

Ok but you haven't seen what this guy has done. He's said many racist things to me. He didn't hide it or anything like that. He didn't try to sneak it there. He flat out said it and did it on many posts. A racist shouldn't be discussing this issue.

This whole thread is really lame

Shotglass - I agree with what you just said - great post.

Look everyone, on the one hand its cool that Tony D & LS made it to the Super Bowl - but I am down with that simply bc they are good coaches & guys (from what I can tell/hear) as opposed to two BLACK coaches. To the extent that as a by product of that they can break down some barriers and/or inspire some people, well, great.

One the other hand - this hyper-focusing on race only perpetuates racial problems - it does not solve it.

Moreover, ESPN.com's cover shot of Tony D & LS in my opinion...well sucked. Why? Well, the last time I checked, as important as coaches are...THEY DON"T SUIT UP. ESPN.com just PUNKED Peyton Manning's, JA's, and the colts HUUUUGE comback by putting the focus all on Dungy to further their story line.

Similar to Chicago's destruction of the "American Saints" (garbage tag line). The defense did a phenomenal job forcing turnovers and Grossman did what he needed to do.

Let's see what is the bigger story for a SPORTS network. Heck, why cover the game or the actual payers at all - let's pimp an agenda.

Of course there is A story to cover there - but many have now completely overshot the other MAJOR stories in this mix and it devalues the players and the games. Rome covered the real stories (Manning, Hoody, Chi town, Sts., Tuna, etc.) well this Monday so props to him.

What kills me is some of the same people pushing this "two black coaches angle" get pissed when the Russians or Europeans start taking over boxing & the NBA. Where was the "historic cover" of ESPN.com then?

Hey, we are all happy for these teams and coaches - but all I am saying is when it becomes too much about things other than the players and the games, PARTICULARLY when we are talking about race - then we start heading down a bad road.

We don't need "more black coaches & QB's" we need more good coaches & QB's with everyone getting a more fair shot - which I am sure will lead to more black coaches & QB's but also plenty of other races as well.

Sports should be a meritocracy not something to push a social agenda. See the athlete/coach not the color.

    Well that settles that.

Well ... John is right. Rather than thinking about what percentage of a certain race is making up what percentage of a certain position, we should be concerned with who's PRODUCING the most.

Tell me, liberals, how this called him a terrorist. The contrast was related to his bitter, humor-lacking attitude.

    As I said, liberal hysteria.
