I gather that Blitz was saying that designating Lovie and Tony as black coaches, rather than just coaches, is like calling it women's basketball instead of just calling it basketball.

I don't think he was implying that black coaches are inferior to white coaches the way women's basketball is inferior to men's basketball (and I will stand behind the assumption that women's hoops is inferior to men's basketball which is a separate issue).

Though, I have to admit, I had the same initial reaction as Agate Monkey.

That could be taken a number of different ways. I'm curious how he'd clear it up.

Are you saying that in these comparisons women's basketball and black coaches are both being put down?

No, you'd want to see ALL white sports athletes.

EDIT: A person like you shouldn't participate in this discussion. Hell, a person like you shouldn't be on this planet.

Careful there on the trigger, Pud.

    Those weren't my remarks.

Show me the post I made and I'll try. So far, I have said nothing about women's basketball. Read closely.

That was mine near the comment you questioned which wasn't mine.

    What do you not understand?

First, I D'ONT think women's basketball is inferior to "men's basketball"
I am implying that U.S. society is quick to fasten the label of women's onto basketball, but it never uses the term "men's" basketball (save for AP files here and there)
It's as if "women's basketball" is a separate species from "basketball"

On the "black coaches" thing, I just find it odd that we never hear mention of "white coaches"
We only hear "coaches" in that instance.
A social nuance is all I'm pointing out.
No racism from me. I am a student of the Movement and all it stood and stands for.
    Hate the "N" word.
I agree with Lovie or whoever said it yesterday ( I know it wasn't Pam Oliver that first said it)
"It will be a grand day when there isn't an issue about any race appearing in this game or that game."
Leave me out of any racial talk
