Good, affordable clothing?

I don't think cheap clothing is a bargain. Best thing to do is buy good, name brand clothes when it is on sale.

I bought some khakis at Costco that fell apart in a couple months. But my Eddie Bauer khakis that cost twice as much last years and repel stains.

But only people at the Plain-Dealer can afford the nice clothing.

Which comes in handy for Ace, who frequently stains his trousers.:p

Every time this discussion comes up, I have to throw in my staple, Eddie Bauer.

Top quality clothes that will last for a long time. I have jeans from there that I've had for five years at least, and the worst that's happened is the belt loop popped. The clothes are model in a conservative, traditional style. No more all-plaid stuff in there. There are some good looking dress shirts (that are wrinkle resistent, and the Nano-Tec stuff is stain repelent, which we know is good for sports writers). The slacks are also Nano-Tec and there are some other things (like chinos) that are great casual clothes.

Now, the prices, especially on the new stuff, is a little high, but eventually it will be marked down. And, if you can't find your size at the store, you can order from the Direct Order Center and shipping is free to your house.

And there's great looking stuff in there for women as well. Plus all the accessories and the like.

And if you're really nice, I may be able to get you a discount :)

Hook me up, byd! I've got an interview coming soon at the P-D. Need new chinos and a Cleveland Rocks! T-shirt.

Ace, can help with the chinos, you're going to have find that T-shirt elsewhere. After all, EB is Seattle-based.

JDV and I are tight. He hooked me up with some saweeeet killa calf implants and EPO.

Now I'm off the hook when I spin with the homies.

Couldn't agree more and I'd say that especially about suits.

If you are going to buy a suit, buy the best one you can afford. The $200.00 ones are pieces of crap and if you're lucky, they may surivive one dry cleaning because of the way they're constructed, not to mentione the quality of the fabric.

Lyman recommended them to me (though I haven't had the chance to use them yet), and others have said good stuff about 'em.

American Eagle if you're not too old for that kind of young-ish looking attire. Little pricey, but very nice looking and holds up way better than an Old Navy, Kohls, or Aeropostale. Head to the clearence rack which usually has some excellent buys and they also usually have very solid 20 dollar polos.
