Good Cast, Bad Movie

Discussion in 'Anything goes' started by DanOregon, Aug 26, 2007.

  1. Fixed. I'll take Mars Attacks over Independence Day any day ... at least Mars Attacks was intentionally funny.

  2. It is amazing that a movie could have those people in it and be so bad, but you're exactly right.
I nominate Godfather III. How could it have Coppola and Puzo together again and Pacino, Keaton, Garcia and Bridget Fonda and suck as bad as it did?

No way, I liked Independence Day. Will Smith as a badass hero = good times.

I just don't think ID4 (as the kids call it) had that "great" of a cast. Will Smith wasn't huge at that point in his career and the rest of the cast were mostly actors with solid supporting roles to their credits. Loggia, Quaid, Pullman, McDonnell, Adam Baldwin and don't forget Brent Spiner. But I do think all involved played to their strengths and made a decent movie.

I nominate The Royal Tenenbaums. I saw it when it originally came out and tried watching it again recently. I can't figure out why some people loved it so much.

Nice call... Unbelievable cast... Fucking awful movie...

All the Kings Men from last year... The reviews were so bad that I had to see for myself just how bad it could be... They were right...

League of Extraordinary Gentlemen....great cast but a major let down and this was one movie that I actually made five trips to the concession stands so I could fill the time. I couldn't sit through it.
