Have you read All The President's Men and other books about the Watergate? If not, you need to. The evidence regarding illegal activities by the Nixon White House and the Committee to Re-Elect the President is overwhelming.

In case I missed it, I apologize.

Just figured I would toss Palin's interview from earlier this week, supposedly before being selected for VP with CNBC's Maria Bartiromo.

What an emabarassment. It's an insult to women and a reckless move by McCain. Country first? This is all about politics first. It's a political, win the news cycle pick.

I'm still waiting for one person to honestly say she's ready to be President. But Obama to the side for a minute, forget about him. I'll even concede he's not experienced enough to be President.

Now, convince me why this person should conceivably ready to assume the duties of President of the United States.

Oh, don't get me wrong. That's one of the reasons I got into journalism.

I was just being a wiseass, making the statement that whenever a Republican wins, Democrats cry foul. Scream cheaters and don't look at what they did wrong to lose the election.

Look, while this woman was mayoring small-town Alaska, Obama was on the Senate foreign relations committee. Obama has shown that he has a worldview, that he understands the major issues at play in the global economy and the security of our country.

This pick by McCain - and the elation by right-wingers - displays an utter lack of core principles in the Republican party outside of anti-gay, anti-abortion, anti-global warming, anti-evolution.

The supposed party of national security is perfectly comfortable with placing someone so utterly unqualified to be president just a heartbeat away. Scary, scary stuff.

  8. It's kind of like when a team blames an official's call for a loss when it had plenty of opportunities to never put itself in that position to begin with.

Here are the defenses for Palin regarding her inexperience:

    Obama's inexperienced, too.
    Democrats don't like anyone.
    She's the VP.

None of which answer the question. Weak, weak defenses of her so far.

Yes, you might like her policies/positions, but what about the substance? Or does that not matter?

What has McCain been campaigning about? The threat of terrorism, the transcendental issue of our times. Obama is dangerously inexperienced. We must confront threats like the newly dangerous Russia.

And so he picks the Gov. of Alaska who's served for less than two years.

McCain basically admits that everything he's been campaigning about is meaningless. He's a fraud.

    Dear Mr. McCain.

    It's still the economy, stupid.

    Sincerely,
The people who are going to throw you people out

Sounds to me like he is running a very consistent campaign:

McCain was against inexperience before he was for it.
