Or maybe it would create millions of green jobs.

With all-time, rampant levels of deficit spending, the right's current designates have done a pretty good job of that, as we type.

I agree with both of you. better safe than . . .etc.

It's reckless to just sit on our sorry duffs and say "The planet will heal itself!"

Now, if someon wants to start calling it a "moral" issue instead of a "we only have one planet" logic issue, then I take issue.

Anyone who WAS supporting Hillary who NOW supports McCain is, in fact, stupid or racist.

Big difference from the broad brush you used.

Watergate broke BEFORE the election. And McGovern still carried only one state. That's the sad part of Watergate is that Nixon's thugs didn't need to lift a finger in terms of illegal activities. If there had been no Watergate, Nixon would have gone 51-0 (counting D.C.)

Oh, really. So someone who was supporting Hillary Clinton, clearly the most conservative Democrat running for the nomination, who saw Obama win, and decided that McCain was closer to their ideology, is "stupid or racist."

And you're arrogant and elitist for slandering someone who decides to follow the courage of their convictions. And you wonder my you people lose elections.

Again ... since you appear to be dense.

    1. Why do you care who McCain picked? You wouldn't vote for him anyway.

    2. As such, I figured you'd be reveling in his selection of Palin, if she's as bad as you think she is.

    3. If you're getting this worked up about his VP pick, in an election where your guy is a foregone conclusion to win, again, why do you give a shit?

    4. Considering the above three points, maybe you're worried it's not in the bag.

The people who are going to throw him out need to get back to us on the first Wednesday of November to see if that actually happens. Until then, you don't mind if John McCain campaigns, do you?

With all respect to those still rambling on, can we end the thread now? Jeepers. We're at 50 pages in a little more than 24 hours. How can you keep up? What more could there be to say at this pont?

There is no universe where a Hillary supporter could honestly examine Obama's and McCain's positions and conclude that McCain was closer to their ideology. No universe whatsoever. Abortion? Universal health care? Stem-cell research?

Please enlighten me. On what issues is Hillary closer to McCain than Obama?

    Watergate HAPPENED before the election.

High-level administration ties into the break-in and subsequent cover-up were not reported until long after the election.

    READ. THE. BOOK.

No, Watergate HAPPENED before the election. The trials and investigation happened well after Nixon was re-elected. I think its impact on the election was neglible.

If my memory serves me well (and I was a Watergate junkie), it wasn't flying very high in the public conscience. It was mostly seen as Democratic Party propaganda---kinda Swiftboating although in the case of Watergate, it was actually true.
