Two anti-science wingnuts on the same ticket? Sounds like a fundie's wet dream.

  2. I have no idea if the rumor is true. I didn't mean to be a rumor-monger in the first place.
But you know this will be part of the campaign from here on out, just like the Obama Muslim stuff has been.

He hasn't governed Memphis, but Harold Ford Jr. was elected by Memphis residents to represent them for several terms in Congress. He's definitely been worth a damn.

I think Henry meant Gravel instead of Cement.

And I've had a real problem with the Obama Muslim stuff as well, speaking from the right side of the aisle.

Do not try this shaming bullshit. Not when we've had threads like "Is Obama really a US citizen?" Were you 'disgusted' by that thread starter? What about the people who like to link Obama with infanticide? Are you disgusted with them?

She's been mentioned repeatedly over the past year as someone who could be a major player for the Republicans in the future. She's smart, she's attractive, she plays well to the Republican base.

She told the New Yorker two weeks ago she doesn't give a rip about party politics and hasn't spoken to the head of the Alaska GOP since she was elected. She also said she thought it was kind of cool that Obama was doing well in her state because the themes of his campaign were so similar to hers. She also sounded lukewarm at best about the war in Iraq: ā€œIā€™m a mom, and my son is going to get deployed in September, and we better have a real clear plan for this war. And it better not have to do with oil and dependence on foreign energy.ā€ At the same time she's pro-NRA (like everyone in a place like Alaska) and staunchly anti-abortion. I could see her being an extremely attractive candidate down the line.

Right now, though, I think this looks like a really, really bad fit. Either she does whatever the party tells her and loses the independence that people like, or she keeps her independent streak and the GOP leadership freaks. Either way I think she risks looking really foolish over the next couple of months. At the very least she's in deep trouble against Biden in the debate, and he doesn't even need to go after her. She's completely screwed on the foreign policy questions. From what I've seen so far it doesn't appear she's even given those issues any thought, let alone have any background in them.

I would love on November 4, you walk to the registration area of your polling place, the person looks at you, says "Do you still believe Barack Obama is Muslim?" If you say yes, they say "You're too stupid to vote. leave."

    To answer your questions.

    Yes.
    Yes.

  10. It also has a lot to do with weeding out corruption in an Alaska GOP that has been pretty corrupt.

But I wouldn't expect Obama's press secretary to do much research into that.

Of course, even Obama backers are shunning you at this point, too.

OK, then. Apologies for using profanity in your direction.
