Firing the town librarian is "weeding out corruption"?

    You are a moron.

Maybe Palin realized the Dewey Decimal System is at the root of everything wrong with our country! Ever think of THAT?

  4. You love polls, right? Apparently she has upwards of 80 percent approval from Alaskans. Unless you think they're all idiots, too.

Not enough sunlight there. It affects their brains.

  6. Or, for half the year, perhaps too much sunlight.

Dude, she's been in office for a year and a half during which the state of Alaska has had the good fortune of riding an unprecedented oil boom wave of prosperity--which, btw, she had nothing to do with. Pretty damn hard for any governor not to have a high approval rating under those circumstances.

Show me her ratings after she's actually been there awhile and had to make tough decisions and cuts, something she's not yet had to do, and I might be impressed. But right now she hasn't really even been tested.

And I'm the King of England.

    What exactly is your point?

Seriously, what does a 80% approval rating from Alsaskans have to do with her competency to be VP of the most powerful nation in the world?

    I'm thinking none.

I'm fascinated by this WashPo article because it makes no sense. McCain's advisers explain the selection process and show how McCain gave this pick careful consideration, yet aren't willing to give their names for attribution. All unnamed sources. Just plain strange.
I think it's spin to counter the "only met her twice" charge, there are other declarations that don't ring true like the jerking around of Pawlenty and Romney, and if one of her negatives is that she's unknown, but you have been considering her for the past few months, why don't you have her campaigning for you or maybe announce that she's going to be the keynote speaker, or slot her to speak at anytime during the convention to raise her national profile and not make your pick seem so erratic? Weird.

As for this back and forth crap. The only way the Dems help Palin is by making her appear sympathetic and victimized. That said, with all the "lowered expectations" talk, the Dems should just say it's not a good idea for our nation to have lower expectations of anyone who may have access to nuclear codes.
