Hate to agree with Lyman, but I will. Cut the "closet homo" bullshit, man. Totally inappropriate.

Tired of hearing about how this woman took on her own party or that she grew agitated with the industry that provides 85 percent of her state's revenue. Neither requires any "spunk."

  4. And you are the saddest jackass on this board. That's saying a hell of a lot.

And you're quickly moving up the biggest homophobe on SportsJournalists.com ladder with tony and the rest of the bigoted idiots.

As if GOP corruption is somehow isolated to Alaska.

  7. Kinda like Dem corruption is limited to Louisiana, I guess.

Nasty names aside, I grew up in a small state (Delaware, as it happens). And one thing about small state politics is that the personal issues of the pols are more important than the issue issues by a factor of about 10-1. In Delaware, both parties assiduously avoid having their best vote-getters run against each other. It's like boxing. Everybody's a champ!
This is to say, it would be astonishing if a lot of weird stuff about Palin's career didn't come out in the next few weeks. Not because she's weird necessarily, but because Alaska politics is.

The newspapers in Fairbanks and Anchorage have weighed in on the Palin pick as follows: "You cannot be serious!"

    From the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner:

    The Anchorage Daily News:

And both papers have pointed out her flip-flop regarding the bridge to nowhere. Here's the Anchorage story:

So, um ... that's a really blatant lie to tell in your first public appearance as the presumptive vice presidential nominee.

A politician putting their political interests ahead of their constituents' interets? I am shocked, shocked I tell you. ::)
