I'm surprised someone hasn't commented on the fact that one of her ancestors was involved with the Spanish Inquisition.

Depends on how many vote on the issues and how many are against Obama strictly because he has no experience.

Depends on how many undecided women are militant feminists. And even some of those may be so unforgiving of Obama that they'd vote against him to spite him. Not many, mind you, but some.

exactly. Running for President isn't a pre-requisite for being a Vice President.

Um, no. Palin is attached to a GOP nominee that most of what passes for today's GOP insiders didn't want, don't like and have had trouble coming to terms with. She's nothing more than an attempt to win back the base.

This is not a pick to run against Obama-Biden. This is a pick to run against Bob Barr and Wayne Root. Complete failure.

why does everyone assume voters are educated? For every woman a these female rights events that knows even 50% of the facts, there are three or four who are like "DOH! I'm a woman. She is too. That works for me." Same goes for anything really. There are plenty plenty plenty of idiot voters out there. Black, White, Male, Female whatever, there's a large pool of idiots who get votes too.

A lot of women are anti-abortion.

If I'm the Obama campaign, I try to drum up some renewed publicity for the gorilla rape joke. It's dirty, but I think you have to get that out there again and remind women.

    Holy cow!

Does this lock up the all-important Inuit swing vote?

Awful, awful selection. It is so clearly pandering to women that it is laughable.

Having spent all summer arguing that Obama is not prepared to be Commander-in-Chief, McCain now has to defend how Palin is qualified and ready to lead during a war.

    Please.

And the whole thing involving her brother-in-law is going to get played up huge.

I was only seven years old in 1972, but I remember what happened to Thomas Eagleton.
