Am I the only one seeing this as a somewhat cynical pick by McCain?

"Hey, a buncha women are pissed Hillary didn't get the Dems nomination. Let's pick a woman for VP!"

A risk McCain felt he had to take, perhaps in light of what happened this week in Denver.
On his radar for what? :-D

Yes, coming from the same guy who has turned down many an opportunity to debate McCain.

    Yep

Like I said, the VP should be chosen to take over if the Pres goes down. This woman was picked to win an election.

I know, all VPs are, but this just shouts it.

I honestly think this was an awful selection by McCain.

Between Palin's complete lack-of-name recognition, her scant experience (erasing that line of attack against Obama), and the scandal involving her brother-in-law, I honestly think there is a strong chance she is off the ticket by Columbus Day.

    Thomas Eagleton meet Sarah Palin.

    From Politico:

"Her oldest son, Trick, turned 18 last year and enlisted in the Army on the sixth anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks. Palin’s youngest child, Trig, was born in April and diagnosed with Down syndrome.

As the Anchorage Daily News reported, Palin sent an e-mail to friends and family at the time in which she said: “... Trig will be a joy. You will have to trust me on this." The paper said Palin wrote the email in the voice of God and signed it, “Trig’s Creator: Your Heavenly Father.”

    Trig? Trick? Nicknames?

    Voice of God?

    Wow!

How soon do the bathing suit pictures from her pageant does pop up?

Beaker, you among many should be consistent today. You should be screaming bloody murder about how Obama barely slipped in the issue so near and dear to the opposite end of what you call "wingnuts," that of gay marriage. He spoke as if he were almost out of the Saddleback Church. He should have spoke with left-wing passion.

    Your move.

Palin? Wait, he picked a member of Monty Python? He might yet get my vote, Sweet Baby Jones' latest Esquire story notwithstanding.
