Re: GOP VP thread: So who will McCain name today?

I suppose being veep can give someone "on the job training" that makes up for lack of experience.

The one thing I like about Palin based on what I've read is that she's willing to buck her own party to do what's right.

But if McCain's going to slam Obama's lack of experience and turn around and pick someone even less experienced for his veep candidate, that smacks of typical political bullshit hypocrisy. I don't care if she's not the one running for president. I don't want to hear another word from McCain bitching about Obama being inexperienced.

Still reading through the thread, but i wanted to highlight this as my exact take on the pick.

Part of your responsibility as the nominee IS to pick someone who can seamlessly take over if you are incapicitated, or worse.

It's one thing for Obama to have been through 18 months of the crucible of campaigning, and have tens of millions of people vote for him into the nominee spot... It's quite another to show that, given the unilaterality a president will have, you flip off the very idea of such an important thing.

What will he do unilaterally once he gets to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.?

Is this a sick joke McCain is playing on the country? She looks like she's running for the PTA

Obama supporters need to watch comments like this one. It's not much different than claiming Obama is an empty suit because he's half-black. Don't be a jackass.

I'm waiting for her to build a cheeleader pyramid now.

    Or is this Tracy Flick?

    What the hell?

But she DOES come across that way. Hillary did not, as much as I can't stand her.

She's got a lot of pep, but she seems SO small-time.

Doesn't matter. Is she a credible President? Every VP pick has to answer that question. Especially if the Presidential candidate is 72 years old with a history of cancer.

It does look very much out of context.

Definitely more like a school rally.
