    This pick actually pisses me off. It suggests to me that the Republicans are going to gum up this campaign and make it almost entirely about tactics. Win, lose or draw, they intend to further the divide between red and blue, picking a candidate 40-45% of this country is almost sure to loathe and blow off. However I feel about abortion, I sure as hell don't want to hear Palin's self-congratulatory testamonial over and over. Nor am I looking forward to hearing her "wife of a soldier" speech.

    To me, this smells like the GOP trying to culturally redefine what it means to be an American woman, and they're using Palin as a political Barbie. Whether it "works" or not is less important than whether a political party should be engaging in such a thing.

    That Palin would willingly play along with such a thing speaks to competency.

    How it plays in Peoria is more important than how it plays in D.C.

    But, in the end, I'm not sure the VP pick makes a hell of a lot of difference either way.

    Teh interwebs just allow them to congregate.

    I haven't been to hilaryis44.com in a while, but I'm sure they're going batty there, too.
