    Probably true. But, listening to Scarborough, Halperin and another reporter, they're pissed with the games the McCain campaign is playing. They're flat out saying McCain is flubbing this process, and it's going to come back to bite him within the press corps.

    Scarborough: "Why should any of us believe these McCain aides again when they tell us something off the record?"

    Five kids: one son in the Army, three daughters (two teenagers) and one newborn son (four months old) with Down's syndrome.

    Agreed the whole political scene is different, but it's the same women-want women philosophy.

    I don't dislike that there could be a woman on the ticket; I just can't believe she was chosen for any other reason than her gender and age, and that offends me.

    I don't care what she looks like (and hope no one else really does either).
    Can she be president if the president kicks? With a prez in the 70s, that's a bigger question.

    Who the hell else could have been on that plane?

    If it is Palin, it reaks of desperation. It sends a signal that McCain was spooked by the Democratic convention and feels he needs something "out of the box" to shake things up.

    I wonder if Palin's ex-brother in law approves of the choice.

    I think that Veep candidates are chosen based on such concrete, basic facts all the time... sometime it is the state a person is from....sometimes it is one single issue that person espouses.... sometimes it is a hardhat, lunchbucket, 65-year-old white guy

    More brilliance than desperation. As Simon pointed out, nobody is talking about Obama's speech right now. Well, Spinning is masterbating to it as he replays it on Tivo, but no one else is talking about it.
