They'd only have a problem with it if she was a Democrat.

Here's Romney (I got it off the COrner):

"Governor Palin's story is one that all Americans will find inspiring. She's a Washington outsider with a commitment to the conservative principles that will make our nation stronger. I look forward to campaigning for Senator McCain, Governor Palin and Republicans all across the country."

He's plays one note badly. What did we expect?

No one's saying her choice shouldn't be respected. But whether she has the right to ask less advantaged people than her to make the same choice is the big question. She has a considerably larger safety net than most. And that should be part of that conversation, IMO.

That nugget has already been mentioned twice on this thread (back on page 6 or 7 and again on page 20 or 21)

Since Rush Limbaugh and the extreme right wing of the party picked this woman, just about anyone else would have gotten a more positive reaction.

To fully answer you question, I could have stomached Mitt Romney. I could have stomached Kay Bailey Hutchinson.

Read back the first few pages where the usual douchebags (spinning) are mocking her because she didn't tell everyone immediately after she got pregnant and spinning flippantly suggests the kid was actually her daughter's.

Some have no shame and no respect for what it takes to raise a disabled child.

    DING! DING! DING!

from my seat, for those who are unsure whether barack or mccain should get their vote, how can this NOT be the swaying factor?

There's a really good YouTube video of Palin and Napolitano on Charlie Rose together. Nice civil discussion. I thought both governors came across well.

If the experience argument is now nullified for both sides, to which I say fine, then we could take the radical step of debating the election on the candidates' stands on the issues. It's crazy, I know, but it just might work.
One thing I will say about this pick. It's a shining example of what might be called the improvisational nature of the McCain campaign. They are just throwing it all against the wall and seeing what sticks. There's no doubt in my mind that if Obama had picked Hillary, McCain would have picked some guy.
It might work, but scramble on every play, sooner or later there's a sack and/or turnover.

She was a point guard, so I think she's hot.
