    What is wrong with adoption?

No no no. Alaskans have been receiving payouts from the Permanent Dividend Fund, as I believe it's called, for some time. The amount varies year by year, based on oil company profits, and has been higher in the past few years, obviously. I believe it was something like $1,700 this year.

It's basically money the oil companies pay the state (I believe in various taxes, fees, etc.) that the state then hands back to its residents.

Not only is Palin pro-life, she's 100% pro-life. And yes, even in the case of rape or incest.

McCain, the former maverick, has picked a right-wing nutjob mayor of Mystery, Alaska as his VP.

    God help us all.

Well, Moddy, the truth is that no one can definitively say yes or no about any of the four of them.

That's an answer I can respect.

If Palin is ready, Obama sure as hell is ready. Any sentient being recognizes this.

They neutered what has been their most effective line of attack.

And I'm not sure what else they have.

Yeah, pro-life makes someone a nutjob but being pro-abortion is just fine. Wow. Don't invoke God. He wouldn't be on your side.

This is the conclusion I'm coming to.

For sure, there is no message discipline, no coherent theme.

I still have no idea why they want me to vote for McCain, and this pick is sure to confuse more people than it helps.

Really? That's not what he told me. When did you talk to him?

The significant majority of Americans do not believe that abortion should be criminalized by overturning Roe vs. Wade. Even a large percentage of people who consider themselves "pro life" believe that abortion should be allowed in the case of rape or incest or if the health of the mother is in danger.

It's only the fringe lunatics like Palin who are 100% anti-choice.

If that's her choice. I am opposed to politicians who wish to force a woman to blimp up for nine months, buy new clothes, eat differently, incur medical bills and then squeeze the kid right out the old ... ummm ... taco.
