Saw Pawlenty with Wolf on CNN: "He made a bold pick, Obama played it safe."
    Exactly.
And for the record, Palin RAISED taxes on oil companies. So she's got that going for her.
Is it Sunday yet? I can hear Maureen Dowd's "o" from here.

  2. Which is forgetting the fact, of course, that Obama himself IS the bold pick.

Anyone find it interesting that the "candidate for change" picked Biden, while the candidate that the left calls "same old thing" picked Palin?

It's funny that you make that joke, Tony. Let's say Obama had picked a true outsider with little national experience. You would have laughed your ass off. So, forgive me if I deny you your "Gotcha!" moment.

Well, framing it in the terms of Romney being Rove's selection for Column A (and McCain clearly gagging on the money at the very thought), Palin is a Rovian
    Column B selection.

Act in haste, repent at leisure.

    Remember Thomas Eagleton.

God help us, now we're gonna have every two-bit local politician in the North and Southwest claiming foreign policy experience for being close to Canuckistan and Mexico. I go to Chinese restaurants, maybe this Fox guy will give me foreign policy credit.

My immediate co-workers are from Russia, Singapore, Trinidad, Pakistan, Nigeria and Peru. Biden would be my bitch.

The Alaska Army National Guard is composed of approximately 1850 soldiers and maintains 77 armories and other facilities, including Fort Greely (as of 2006).

There are high school principals and police chiefs with better "commander in chief" and national security credentials.

Her education goals for the Great State of Alaska: Full funding for K-through-12. (that's it).

McCain barely knows who Palin is. He's already had the car keys taken away from him. Pitiful

I don't think it's a good sign for the Republican when he throws away his key line of attack because he STILL hasn't fired up the base the weekend before the convention. This is short-term thinking, which is why it's applauded by the TV pundits who think in terms of daily overnight ratings. Not their fault, that's how their job works, but it's not how politics works.
