No...you just think the populace is stupid because they have that habit that annoys the hell out of you when they vote their convictions, and it just so happens that sometimes results in the election of Republicans.

Not so sure why people say "you can't attack her."

I want Biden to try to tear her to shreds.

Maybe then people will wake up and wonder, "Gee, how would she do trying to deal with Putin or Ahmadinejad?"

No. But thanks for pulling one opinion out of 23,000 and crediting it to everyone.

My mixed doubles partner's convictions tell her that "the blacks will go wild" if Obama is elected.

You got another word besides stupid I should use?

  3. Not according to me!

I think it's damned hard for a Democrat to win an election. Obama may have a movement going, but there is always a large push back against such movements. The United States elected a Republican twice at the height of the liberal movement in 1968 and 1972.

Yeah ... the liberal movement was so high in 1972 that McGovern carried only Massachusetts and DC.
You remind me of Tina Brown, who lamented after that election that she couldn't understand why Nixon won ... no one she knew voted for him.

Can some of you try to argue and debate without using the words "fuck" and "asshole?"
I've love to see some of you argue in a real bar. You'd walk out of there with your teeth in your pocket. And with assistance because your eyes would be battered shut.

You have not once refuted the significant questions regarding this woman. You simply are changing the subject.

That was actually Pauline Kael, not Tina Brown, who supposedly said the Nixon quote. Except there's a lot of debate about whether she ever said it all, as no one ever has any solid citation of where she said it, wrote it or blogged about it. More likely it's just an urban legend that is fun to trot out to make liberals seem completely out of touch.

Uh, the other party was kind of engaging in all kinds of illegal shit to ensure a landslide.

Fascinating story. You should read about it sometime.

  10. Wow. I was agreeing with you.

    I'm really like Tina Brown.

I'm the one on the other thread talking about how I have friends in unions who vote Republican. Or my best friend from Kentucky who visited with me last week, is voting McCain, and spent three hours at a bar one night explaining to me why free markets are good and government regulation in any form is bad.

It's hard to take you seriously when you impulsively just lash out at anybody who votes differently than you do, even when they are making a reasoned statement. Even when they are agreeing with you. Your first impulse is to stereotype. I understand that part of it is just baiting, but sometimes it doesn't make any sense.

All I'm saying is that, for example, hundreds of thousands of people attended, for example, Woodstock. The Civil Rights movement was at its height. Women's lib. And on and on and on. But just because the movements are visible doesn't mean that they encompass all or even the majority of Americans. People push back. Hence the term "conservative."

I maintain that the GOP was in position for gay marriage on the ballot to matter in 2004 largely because of a pushback. People get tired of being told "If you disagree with me, you're stupid!!!!!" And the Michael Moores of the world had that attitude, in spades (oh, crap, can I say that?).

Just as the Clinton years earned a lot of support from Limbaugh's loudness in his initial burst of popularity.

  12. And the Obama campaign's decision on the VP pick is to stay the course and not go after her. Probably a good call not to get knocked off message:
