I have no issue with this whatsoever. Every week on our website, we have a point/counterpoint type things. It's always at least one editor, and the second spot rotates between writers and editors. Since the writers are divas, we let them pick their side. So there have been MANY times I've written an opinion I didn't share.

    Part and parcel, my friend.

Is it common knowledge that his mailbag questions are fake?

I thought those were actual emails he received. To call them BS, to me, is a pretty bold statement.

I would bet they are legitimate e-mails. He is the most popular columnist in the country and his demographic would definitely send e-mails like he gets.

Why would people think they are fake?

It was mentioned on a previous page in this thread.

I was being mostly sarcastic, but the wording and the fact that he agrees with every question seemingly to me either means he: 1.) Gets a ridiculous number of e-mails; 2.) Has readers who dream of being just like him; 3.) Occasionally throws one in there himself.

I think the first two are actually more likely in Simmons' case.

David Giffels' column on Beavis and Butthead (he was a writer on the original show) makes it two alumni of the Akron Beacon Journal to grace Grantland's website. Chuck Klosterman is the other. Who saw that coming?

I don't go to the site every day. I'm there 2-3 times a week and I always find 2-3 things worth reading, which I think is pretty good...

This has been out a few week but I found it to be one of better articles. Brings fond memories of when The Boston Globe was far and beyond the best sports section of all. That was an amazing staff, all of big personalities that came through in their writing.

I really enjoyed this piece on Mario Balotelli: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/7183014/how-mario-balotelli-became-mario-balotelli.

I enjoyed that the first time I read it, when Sports Illustrated wrote it without making it all about one young writer's climb up through the industry: http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/the_bonus/05/26/globe/index.html
