To do what James did while watching pork and beans and without the aid of modern computers is staggering. Pissing on him is as petty as it gets around here.

And I do not like the new layout. I hate busy webpages and they are starting to lean that way.

New look has the quality of TMZ.com. I really liked the clean former "New Yorker" like appearance. Now it's just like the rest.
I guess they decided that the writing was not drawing us the picture that it was suppose to.

Dude, I've got nothing against James, but if you think "stathead" is not an accurate tag for him, well, I just don't know what to tell you.

I wouldn't necessarily argue against Bill James being a stathead. I will argue against Bill James being labeled a stathead based on his analysis of Nolan Ryan.

The new design makes the site look like Thebiglead.com.

Not sure about before, but at least on the blog comments are allowed via Facebook now.

They enabled that a few months ago in response to Deadspin.

And yes, it's The Big Lead meets The Classical with a little of Yahoo!'s The Post Game thrown in for good measure. The old look was meant to stand out from the competition. The new look mimics a lot of it.

Today is National Signing Day, but there's not a single mention of it on Grantland.

A review of the NY Times wedding announcements, a review of Lana Del Rey's album and Bill Simmon's NBA season recap (part 2) are there.

I mean, it's not a news site, right? I wouldn't expect there to be signing day stuff today. Maybe a breakdown tomorrow or Friday.

There was a primer for NSD on Grantland yesterday, I believe.
