To address the topic title - I check out Grantland every two or three days. Since it's not a daily news site, that seems to be the right frequency for me, since you don't really have to worry about missing something if you just check in every couple of days. I like the podcasts, the football stuff from Barnwell, all of the NBA analysis, the pop culture stuff, etc. I like that when ESPN is devoting significant time to blathering about national signing day, I can surf over to Grantland and instead read something completely off the beaten path.

I don't know what that was about, but I don't think it was about the Super Bowl.

I love how he wrote this before Lin drops 38 on the Lakers.

Like his writing or hate it, Simmons is very intuitive when it comes to the NBA.

His niche -- no two ways about it.

With his pop culture. I also wish he would write more about music.

Agreed. It would be a welcome change from the rock-critic-snob stylings of Molly Lambert.

Even USA Today -- and definitely all the New York newspapers, of course -- had a "Lin-sanity" story the sports front by the middle of last week.

Dunno. Lips that kiss up to The Karate Kid will never touch mine.
