Damnit! I thought of Silver Blue and Gold yesterday and forgot to mention it. Another gorgeous tune. "My rain ain ainbow is overdue..."

From the "Songs no one's ever heard of except me and possibly Junkie," I'll submit Lou Gramm's entire "Long Hard Look" album, which includes "Day One." Favorite lyrics there: "Even in my darkest hour I know my time will come...this is day one."

Other favorites off that album are "Hangin On My Hip" and "Angel With A Dirty Face."

"Acquiesce" is another great tune from the Gallagher brothers

Someone mentioned "Brother Louie" earlier, which I'll agree with, but I'd also recommend the Hot Chocolate version of the song, which is darker and more dramatic (with a spoken part by, I believe, Alexis Korner as a bigoted father) than the Stories version that hit No. 1 on these shores. Speaking of Hot Chocolate, one song that WAS a hit for them that you never hear anymore is "Emma", which I always liked.

A couple others: I'll second "DOA" by Bloodrock, which gives me nightmares, and add "Black Cars (Look Better In the Shade)" by Gino Vannelli, which has a great organ part.

After "What's the Story (Morning Glory)" -- my favorite rock-n-roll song, Acquiesce is way up on my list. Goddam, I love that song.

Mott The Hoople ... their entire catalog is underrated and long forgotten, save All The Young Dudes and the occasionally radio-played All The Way From Memphis.

Great band that should have been huge.

39 is an absolutely great song.

From the same album, "Seaside Rendezvous"
