I didn't read all 16 pages of this thread, so I don't know if I am throwing out any repeats:

--Train In The Distance, Paul Simon
    --An Innocent Man, Billy Joel
    --In Your Time, Bob Seger
--This Train Don't Stop There Anymore, Elton John
--Man Out of Time, Elvis Costello
    --Promises, Eric Clapton
--Smiley Faces, Gnarls Barkley (much, much better than Crazy)
    --Just Apathy, Tally Hall
--Eleanor Rigby, Ray Charles (his version is much more haunting than the Beatles)
    --Full Force Gale, Van Morrison

No matter what they tell you, remember you can still rock in America. All night, oh yeah.

Heard "Rose of Cimarron" by Poco last night on the radio. Great song. Emmylou does a very good cover of it, too.

And Jesse Colin Young's "Daniel" and "Before you came" from Songbird are excellent as well.
