Best I have ever seen in person was Barry Sanders. He did a double clutch behind his head that put my jaw to the floor.

On TV, you gotta go with 'Nique. He could dunk from any location flatfooted from withen 10 feet.

Umm, Bob, I'm pretty damn sure he meant David "Skywalker" Thompson, not Kenny Walker. Careful or the old farts will start bitching about you not knowing the game's history.

I have to put Carter slightly above MJ. I didn't get to see a lot of Doc other than the CBS games and some You Tube highlights, but he looks to be as good as it gets.

Well, since I already listed Thompson, and Connie Hawkins, I'm not worried about that. I'm very old school in my ways!! I even use the glass when I shoot.

The only thing I do remember about Thomspon is him destroying his knee in an old-timers game once. But I have seen the highlights.

The one where he yokes it over Cooper, coming in from the left wing -- not the baseline reverse layup. Maybe I have the year wrong.

And well they should if you come to a topic ill informed.

I pride myself on being informed and understanding history.

But, to play Devil's Advocate, I'll reach back to what a friend of mine told our high school Engilsh teacher when we read the Scarlet Letter: Just because it's old doesn't mean it's good.

I see more older guys putting older players on lists and snubbing younger players just as much. Depends on what you grew up with I suppose.

That's fine but at at least know the landscape. I not implying that you personaly don;t know history of game. Just saying there is far too many examples of ill researched stories from lazy writers.

You could write a book on The Sports Guys lack of history knowledge alone.

I think the Dr. J. dunk on Cooper was during the regular season. For some reason that has stuck in my mind.

That dunk was so great because of Cooper being there. If it was a regular break away, I do not think the Doc does that dunk. But, to see him rock the ball away from Cooper and take a better angle to the rim... That was a great dunk.

I still give it to Nique on overall body of work.

Greatest dunk ever was Chambers over Mark Jackson.

Actually, if its the one I'm thinking of, I believe it was in the 83 finals.
