Ain't no way he made Connie Hawkins his bitch, the Doctor copied Connie Hawkins style. Dr. J became famous by using Connie Hawkins moves and dunks, one-handed manuevers he got from Connie Hawkins. Connie Hawkins is the innovator, the Doctor was the immitator. It's been said that "The Hawk" a.k.a Connie Hawkins dunked from the line before the Doctor did, and Wilt did it before both of them. It's laughable that somebody would even say that the Doctor made Connie Hawkins his bitch, cause if the Doctor made Connie Hawkins his bitch then the Doctor is a fake Connie Hawkins. He should have gave Connie Hawkins half of his check, that's how influential the Hawk was on the Doctor. I would put Connie Hawkins, Wilt, Dr. J at the top. It's a shame that Connie Hawkins doesn't get his credit. The interesting thing is Connie Hawkins was dunking when Dr.J was still in his diapers. Respect the father of the flashy dunks, and that man is Connie " The Hawk Hawkins."

You got to understand that many on here don't have an idea who Connie Hawkins is. Another great dunker who never got his due was Elgin Baylor. He could embarrass you at a moment's notice.

Best dunk I ever saw was Kevin Johnson, taking baseline, ascending, left-handed, over Hakeem Olajuwon, nuts in face; eat that shizzle, bizzo!

Number one, Dr. J--at Hampton Roads Coliseum, throwing them down. Connie Hawkins number two, with Mike Malloy my number three. Like the Tin Man, if he only had (had) a brain.

That was a pretty fucked up dunk if I say so myself. KJ was jumping around after that. But for me, the facials that Dr. J gave Dan Issel, Bob Gross and that now not studdering Hall of Famer Bill Walton, rank up there a little higher.
Also here's a dunk that I know many many not have seen but it was Derrick Coleman when he was at Syracuse, slamming on Georgetown. He got the rebound three times before saying "fuck this" and slamming it home. DC. He may be disturbed child to some but he was always good to me.

The best NBA game I ever saw in person was at The Omni, Shawn Kemp v. Nique back in the early 90s, just before DW took off for the Celts.

Naturally, it wasn't on tv, but damn, both those guys took it to each other. Easily the most exciting one-on-one matchup I've ever seen. Shawn wasn't quite at his apex, Nique was trying to show people he still had it...it was FAN-TASTIC! [/stern off]

Nique. Gotta be Nique. Jordan was the best player ever, and other Nique calibur phenomenal dunkers have come along for short periods. But the best consistent dunker over the course of a long and full NBA career has gotta be Nique.

His one-handed putback dunk in the playoffs against the Celtics (the Bird-Nique duel game) was the sickest dunk I have ever seen.

I am a little surprised there is not much love for Shawn Kemp. When he was in his prime with Payton it was a nightly contest to see if they could outdo their previous alley oops.
