Personal attack meaning you can't counter my point. You are becoming so predictable.

And you believe it was proven that he never used anything before that? You're kidding, right?

She's a dirty as they come, but she's also a lock for the hall of fame.

Is she still living? And better yet, is she still active?

    3- Brett
    4- Griffey
    5- Clemens
    6- Johnson
    7- Maddux
    8- Thomas
    9- Bagwell
    10 - Henderson
    11- Rivera
    12 - Alomar
    13 - Chipper
    14 - Pedro
    15 - Morgan
    15 - Bench
    16 - Seaver

If thats your list, then McCovey, Stargell, Manny Ramirez are better than Rose. And if McCovey, Stargell, Perez and Billy Williams are HOFers and they are, then so should Bagwell, Thome, Delgado and McGriff.

I would quibble with Reggie Jackson. I'm a Yankee fan and came by it honestly seeing my first professional baseball game in 1968 and seeing but not remembering Mickey Mantle play 1B. Reggie's over rated. He was a great player whom I never saw except on TV as an Oakland A in the early70's. That player was great. The Reggie who played with the Yankees and Angels was over rated. Same as Dave Winfield, whom I regard as a marginal HOFer. Not in the big room, not in the room of players your father saw play but the guys who got in and in a generation will be generally forgotten, like Billy Williams.

Rose was the ultimate complier of hits, but the object of the game as a batter, when he played, was to get a hit. And he did that more than anyone. He's also second all time in doubles and 6th in scoring which is the ultimate object of offensive baseball. From 1965 to 1981 he hit over .300 every year but 2 and won 3 batting titles. He started 581 or more games at 5 different positions. 1 MVP and 4 other top 5 finishes. Let's give him his due, he was a great player.
A fucking asshole, douchebag and self-serving preening schmuck but still a great player.

I happily grant you McCovey, Stargell, Manny & Bagwell. Not sure about the others. Big drop-off to the likes of McGriff & Delgado.

    Look at Delgado's slash line compared to Stargell and McCovey. .282 .360 .529 .889 v .280 .383 .546 .929. v .270 .374 .515 .889

without looking it up, which set belongs to which player?

Fair enough. Never saw Stargell or McCovey & didn't study the numbers, which is mostly why I didn't include them. The ones I would argue for are Bagwell at the top and McGriff at the bottom, with Rose probably somewhere in between. I agree that Reggie is overrated, but probably still better than Rose.

The object of the game hasn't changed just because we've gotten better at figuring out how to get there, and evaluating
