    1958-1970 Brazil. They were so good that they won the 1962 World Cup final without Pele.

    Our wires are crossed here. I am not puffing up that 1976 team. Just saying they stood a better chance with their two 1,000-yard rushers rather than two scrubs who started a total of five games in their NFL careers.

    As do I. I save the careful reading for work. This shit is supposed to be fun. :)

    Herb, I agree, but I still think that Raiders were the better team that year. I'm not so sure that the Steelers would have one even with those guys. Also, injuries are part of all sports, especially football.

    I said the Raiders were the better team. There is no doubt they were. But that Steelers team was remarkable for its era, and that people still discuss them indicates they earned some mark in NFL history. If any team now didn't allow a touchdown in 22 quarters, BSPN would never stop talking about it.

    That team won six straight games with a qb not throwing a touchdown pass. That's how much the eras have changed.
