    I had McGarrett being played by Alec Baldwin (Glengarry Glen Ross Alec not 30 Rock Alec), but you could cast just about anyone and give them any role you can think of. Because really, other than McGarrett did any of the other characters have any specific characteristics other than what they looked like?

    Star Trek. The lyrics are great, written by Gene Roddenberry in an effort to get half the future music royalties.

    No love for westerns?

    Maverick had a great theme song.

    Rawhide had a great theme song.

    Bonanza had a great theme song (with lyrics that were sung by Lorne Greene but they went with the instrumental).
