Throw my hats in the ring for these theme songs:

From that first classic night-time soap opera show, ''Dallas'' (for the music):

And also for the music, the TV show "Fame" (although I believe the music was also in a movie of the same name):

For the lyrics and story-show synopses and catchy tunes, don't forget those kids' oldies-but-goodies, ''Diff'rent Strokes'', and also, ''The Facts of Life'' (real blasts from the past, these two):

And, last but not least, check out the ''Star Trek: Enterprise'' theme song, Faith of the Heart (for both the music and lyrics):

So many to bring back great memories. So many left off the list.

Did I miss it or is Mission Impossible never mentioned? Who doesn't know that and can't picture lighting of the fuse as it starts?

I'd forgotten Peter Gunn. Great song. How about "Secret Agent Man" by Johnny Rivers?

I picked Hawaii Five-O from the list given because I thought it's the most still played on the radio (I think) and so recognizable. Cheers was next for me. From reading all the posts I would guess those two are the top 2 even without looking at the poll numbers.

On Bonanza's theme (also left off), do you Cheers fans remember when the scene with the guy who could sing the entire lyrics of the Bonanza theme? Didn't Coach say "Who knew?"

    Sirs, Madames,

Vic Mizzy's theme went to No. 11 on the Chum Chart (for the benefit of Torontonians of a certain vintage)

I had mercifully forgotten this until Second Thoughts brought it up, but as a kid, I owned a 45 of Lorne Green SINGING the Bonanza theme song.
    Jesus, I was a dork.

  10. I owned the album, dude.
It had his hit "Ringo" on it. Also Lorne's version of "Ghost Riders In The Sky."

Awesome. By the way, "Ringo" was the other side of the 45.
Also, I've always loved the Johnny Cash version of "Ghost Riders in The Sky."

Just to get back on topic, here's a shout out for "The Addams Family" Theme.
