Had a very similar situation (albeit at a younger age). It's during the summer and I'm on a marathon kick to see what kind of score I can build up. I have dozens of extra lives built up and the phone rings. And rings. And rings. And rings.
Finally I pick it up and it's my sister's boyfriend, who had loaned me the Atari. He asks what I'm doing and when I tell him, the cock-knocker intentionally kept me on the phone while big freaking rocks kept pulverizing my poor spaceships.

And I couldn't hang up on him because he was a football player and would have beaten my ass.

On the original Pursue The Pennant, I notched a no-hitter with John Denny '84.

Tecmo Super Bowl for Genesis: Thurman Thomas rushed for over 7,000 yards in a season. Andre Collins had over 100 sacks in a season for the Redskins.

NCAA '03 and '05: Multiple consecutive undefeated national titles and heismans with Marshall. One year, a receiver finished with just under 200 catches and just under 4,000 yards. Of course, as always seems to happen in the NCAA football games, he also had in the neighborhood of 70 drops.

Bases Loaded on original Nintendo: I played as Philadelphia and kept my own stats for homers, W-L record, K's and saves. Had one guy (named Oko) hit over 100 home runs.

    I'm a dork.

Just started a new season on NCAA Football 06 with a team I created. First game of the season I sack Kentucky's Andre Woodson with one of my linebackers 11 times and end up with 21 sacks for the game. I know UK sucks, but this was on Heisman level. Both numbers are new records in the game. I won 54-10 after scoring 48 points before halftime. Next up for me is Virginia, who was ranked No. 10 when I scheduled them.

When it came to Bases Loaded, nobody could top Jersey's Paste and Bay. Gehrig and Ruth had nothing on them. Though it was fun to drill one of the two after the fourth inning, which prompted a brawl that got them ejected.

I had a notable achievement three weeks ago. I was playing Winning Eleven 9 (soccer) on the PS2 over the net. I'm in the lowly "amateur" ranks in Konami's database and that was a struggle just to get there. I was at the end of playing a few matches in a row with various garbage teams. Maybe one win out of the bunch.

So, I take it upon myself to use Northen Ireland in my final match of the evening. A person in the highest division challenges me and chooses Brazil as his/her team. I immidiately adjust my team to a straight 4-5-1 formation with strict defensive properties. I was expecting at best a 5-0 loss. But, I score rather quickly off a counter attack and the oppenent opens it up a bit more and I score again in almost the same way. I'm shitting myself at this point...Brazil rallies to gain a goal right after the break, but I hold on and win 2-1. I was flying high. I did some thorough trash talking following that one.

Also of note on Sega's Worldwide Soccer Manager...I went from fired manager of lowly English side Leyton Orient to being hired at a second division Dutch side which I took to the top flight...and then hired at Feyenoord which I led to the EUFA cup.

My one video game regret is I never beat Tyson. Nor have I've seen anyone do it in person.

I beat the computer in Tecmo Super Bowl '91's season-long game with STEVE FREAKING DeBERG as my quarterback.

On Madden 2006, I threw an eight yard out with Chad Pennington.

But was that eight yard out worth it since he missed the rest of the season?

Well, it sort of disproved a theory I had. I believed that he couldn't throw that route in real life or in a video game. And while he can't make that throw in a NFL game...

My very first game I played of Madden 2005 (maybe, 2004?), very first play of the game, I knocked out Peyton Manning for the SEASON with a bruised hip. Couple of seasons later in my franchise, I KO'd Bledsoe the same way - Bruised hip, out for season.
