    We just had this discussion the other day in our office.

    Consensus: Don't ever use "natatorium" for pool, either, except as a proper noun.

    Hurling an Irish sport where they either try to hit the ball into a soccer-style net for 3 points or over the crossbar as in American football or rugby for 1 point.

    The field is about 140 yards or so long. Gaelic football is played on the same field.

    Not that I'm immune to channeling Grantland Rice. I've still got scorch marks from trying to slip "stanza" (for quarter) into a story last month ...
