3_O_F, just wondering what ever became of your adventure with this from a year ago. Was it fixable? Did you get it fixed? Also, what brand is the guitar?

I gave it to my brother-in-law, Tony.
I wanted to fix it as a pet project but just ran out of time in the day.
And though it is strictly of the hobby for him, I knew it would be a labor of love.

That's cool. Did he fix it? Is he playing it?

What do you do with the 5 when you play Smoke on the Water?

Great story here on the Wickershams, a prolific custom guitarmaking family.
For once Rolling Stone writes about something musically significant.

The V chord? I'm not sure I understand the question.
The V isn't really in there. It's I IV and flat VII, plus that little slur from the flat II to the I.

Wait, that's not right. I just looked at it on the git.
It's i III and IV. The slur is from the sharp IV down to the IV.
A 5 chord would be a v, right, because the song is in a minor key so the fifth chord would be a minor chord if the song used one.

So in A minor, it's A minor (i), C major (III) and D major (IV).
The fifth chord would be E minor, but it does not occur in the song.

Can any of you guys recommend a good cleanser that won't harm the fretboard or the body?
Or should I hunt down some Amish craftsman who sells a secret oil that is all-natural and made by mutant bees?

    This stuff is awesome:

I use it to clean fretboards and polish the guitars.

If you've got a lot of hand cheese built up on the fretboard, use a plastic scouring pad to gently remove the build up, and then hit it with the dr. Ducks.

    Thank you, Buck. Good stuff.
I almost feel nostalgic about the marks, as they suggest a certain love and effort.

No problem. Dr. Ducks is a great product.

It won't get rid of scratches, dings or belt-buckle rash. It just cleans and polishes.
