Ah yes, that's the one. And now that Yvonne is singing that song in an endless loop in my head, I'll be off for some White Light/White Heat to drive it out.

But I did like her work with EC and on JCS. 8)

    Neither man's best work ...

... and technically not to the letter of this thread ...

... but presented in the spirit of it. The clip sustained me until I could find the CD. Enjoy.

Good to see Pearl Jam sneak in the bottom 10 for "Yellow Ledbetter," but I really believe John Frusciante's solo to end the RHCP's "Scar Tissue" deserved a spot in the top 100.

Thanks, Tommy. I'm a huge RHCP fan, so that one immediately came to mind when I saw this thread. When he wants to, he plays a beautiful guitar, but it's never too sappy.

Jessica, to me, is top 10.

    Of course it's flawed.

Never seen a list that wasn't.

  9. No Rosetta Tharpe?
    No "Strange Things"?
    I'm not happy.

Tony Peluso's fuzz guitar solo on Carpenters' Goodbye to Love, the first power ballad. 1972.

Can't believe I forgot this one (which I just heard on Little Steven's Underground garage):

    "Louie Louie" by the Kingsmen

Carlos Santana only makes the list at No. 49? Shameful.

Also, there is plenty of love for Clapton, but one of my favorite underrated solos of his is on "Bad Love." Outstanding.

And while Mark Knopfler does get a mention with ""Sultans of Swing," the solo on "Telegraph Road" is even better.
